ITV has commissioned Talkback (part of FremantleMedia UK) to bring back one of this year’s biggest hits, Through the Keyhole, for a one off Christmas special.
Hosted by Keith Lemon, the60 min episode will feature three celebrity panellists including Capital DJ, Dave Berry who will all attempt to identify three famous mystery guests by watching Keith take a tour of each home, exploring every nook and cranny in order to provide the guessing panel with revealing clues as to the identity of the famous owner.
Keith Lemon commented, “I can't wait to suit up and come down the chimney into the homes of the rich and famous to see how they celebrate me favourite time of year for a through t' keyhole Christmas special. Whether they've been naughty or nice I'm sure I’ll be leaving somet under't tree. Well if they've been naughty I'll leave it in their toilet and it will resemble a Christmas pud!”
The first series of Through the Keyhole (6 x 60) premiered August 2013 and featured panellists Cilla Black, Jonathan Ross, Sir Terry Wogan, Holly Willoughby and Emma Bunton as well as homes from mystery guests Mel B, Mary Berry, John Prescott, Daryl Hannah, Louis Walsh, Joey Essex, Greg Rutherford and Amir Khan. The show was the UK’s highest rated new entertainment show for 2013 for young adults (16 – 34) and peaked at 6.1 million viewers.
Dan Baldwin, Managing Director of Talkback says, “Keith has provided his own lemony twist on a much loved format and the public seem to love it. We’re delighted ITV are keen for more and look forward to Keith coming down a few mystery celebrities’ chimneys this Christmas”.
ITV Commissioning Editor, Comedy Entertainment, Claire Zolkwer adds, "I'm so delighted that we're going to be nosing through the keyhole this Christmas. Not only will we be seeing how celebrities decorate their houses but we'll get to see Keith's Christmas wardrobe! The last series was a great hit; it's fantastic that we don't need to wait too long for more."
Through the Keyhole has been commissioned by ITV Commissioning Editor, Comedy Entertainment, Claire Zolkwer and is executive produced by Dan Baldwin and Leon Wilson. It is expected to air later this year.
